Follow These Tips to Ensure Your Trolley is Well Maintained

After deciding that renting a trolley is the best option for your event, do you know what to do next?  When it comes time for your special event, you want to make sure the trolley you are renting is well maintained—from clean windows and floors to a fresh smelling trolley.

Let’s take a look at some helpful tips for ensuring your trolley is ready for your big event.

See the Trolley in Person

The first step you can take is to do your best to view the trolley in person before signing any paperwork.  The company may not be able to show you the exact trolley you will have on the day of your event, but you will be able to see how well maintained and clean their fleet is.  If you wait until the day of, you could experience more problems than necessary.

When you view the trolley in person you are able to view any problems and limitations that might disrupt your evening.  First impressions are huge so if the trolley company has the nerve to show you a dirty trolley with sticky floors and fruit flies swarming, then they will most likely send it out to you in the same condition the day of your rental.

Checkout Their Facilities

Just as you want your trolley to be clean and smell good, it is also important to view the showroom, garage or office space.  Often, if their facility is messy then the trolley car will be, as well.

Be on the lookout for a facility that is clean and functional and if possible, take a sneak peak at what they use to clean with.   Watch for other things like large amounts of fresh oil or fluids on the floor, that is a sure sign of mechanical issues.

Take a Deep Breath In

It may sound like an odd suggestion, but when you are inside the trolley make sure you take a deep breath in.  By taking in the smell of the trolley you can see if you smell mold or an excessive amount of air freshener.  If your rental has an excessive amount of air freshener present, they might be masking a potential smell that could ruin your group outing.

If you see fruit flies or if the trolley smells sweet, then that is usually a sign of lingering residue from alcohol or other drinks.  The smell of a little bleach isn’t such a bad thing as long as it’s not overpowering.

Read Reviews

Always read reviews.  Google, Yelp and other review sites are available to help you get an inside look at how other people view their rental trolley before the big day, or even how their experiences were.  The best advice and insight can come from previous customers of a trolley rental company so pay attention to what other reviewers are saying about their trolley experience and the company.

Ask Questions

Do not be afraid to ask questions.  If you want to know something about the trolley, just ask.  And if the company doesn’t offer you the answers you are looking for, or avoids the question, look elsewhere for a company that will provide you with the best customer service possible instead of simply telling you what you want to hear in order to make the sale.

Does the company detail the trolley both inside and out after each rental?  What do their drivers wear?  Any question you might have is important and should be answered promptly and with detail—don’t settle for anything less.

Whether you are renting a trolley for a work outing, a bachelor/bachelorette party, or even a family event, it is important that your trolley is up to your standards.  The last thing you want or need is to have a trolley that smells, is messy and doesn’t function properly.
